We do tech.
You stay independent.
WiduTech helps governments, public institutions, and organizations understand and reduce their dependency on foreign technology. Through structured audits and hands-on implementation, we map where your data lives, identify your exposure to non-EU-based cloud providers and proprietary platforms, and guide you toward open source and European alternatives — at your pace, on your terms.

Digital Dependency Audit
Not sure where your data actually lives? Unsure which of your workflows depend on platforms you do not control? The Digital Dependency Audit gives you a clear, documented picture of your organization's technology dependencies — and a practical roadmap to reduce them.
Transition to Independence
WiduTech designs and executes migrations from proprietary platforms to open source and European alternatives. We work from the audit findings to scope each migration carefully, set realistic expectations, and deliver a transition that your team can sustain.
Maintain independence
A migration is only successful if the people using the new tools are confident and capable. WiduTech provides end-user training, IT staff training for ongoing administration, and documentation tailored to your organization's specific setup.
Why it matters
For years, the risk of storing data on foreign platforms was mostly theoretical. US corporations owned the infrastructure, but extracting meaningful insights from large volumes of unstructured organizational data — emails, documents, meeting notes, internal communications — was slow, costly, and limited.
That has changed. AI tools built directly into platforms like Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Workspace, and AWS can now analyze, summarize, and surface patterns from unstructured data at scale. The organizations that host your data now have the tooling to understand it in ways that were not previously feasible.
At the same time, instruments like the US CLOUD Act give US authorities potential access to data stored on US-owned infrastructure — regardless of where that data physically resides. GDPR and the CLOUD Act are in direct tension, and most organizations are not aware of their exposure.
WiduTech was founded to address this gap. We bring together deep technical expertise across on-premise infrastructure, cloud architecture, software engineering, and regulated data environments to give organizations a clear, honest picture of where they stand — and a practical path forward.
We do not sell a platform. We do not have vendor relationships that create conflicts of interest. We give you an independent assessment and the hands-on capability to act on it.
About WiduTech
WiduTech is founded and led by Kim Vandendijk, a Belgian technologist with over a decade of experience across the full technology stack.
Kim studied Business Engineering, then built a career that spans on-premise infrastructure (VMware, virtualization), software engineering (API design and development), cloud architecture (AWS, Azure), and most recently lead engineering on clinical data systems supporting high-performance computing in regulated healthcare.
That last role is where much of WiduTech's core expertise comes from. Working in healthcare means operating under strict data classification requirements, retention policies, audit logging obligations, and compliance frameworks every day. It means understanding not just where data lives technically, but what the regulatory consequences are when it ends up in the wrong place.
WiduTech practices what it preaches. This website is hosted with a Belgian provider, built on open source tooling, and uses privacy-first analytics with no tracking cookies. The tools we recommend to clients are the tools we use ourselves.
